Analytics Metrics and Data Insights Foundation
This release begins turning historical data into clearer analytics metrics, including game platform support, free-game share, and website network and security capabilities.
Analytics Metrics and Data Insights Foundation
After beginning to preserve historical data in the previous release, this version takes the next step by turning that information into easier-to-understand analytics metrics.
The first set of metrics focuses on games and websites.
For games, GoFurry now begins tracking:
- Share of free games
- Windows support
- Linux support
- Differences across tags and categories
For websites, the initial metrics include:
- IPv6 support
- TLS 1.3 adoption
- security.txt availability
- Comparisons across countries, groups, and content types
These metrics are not treated as simple yes-or-no counts. When data has not been collected, is outdated, or cannot be determined reliably, GoFurry keeps those states separate instead of presenting a potentially misleading result.
A new internal metrics view has also been added to help us inspect daily results, compare dimensions, and verify that the generated data remains reliable.
Most of these metrics are currently used for internal validation and are not yet fully available on the public site.
Starting with this release, however, GoFurry now has the foundation to turn historical records into trends, ratios, and comparisons. Future public analytics and data exploration features will build on this work.
